An Intelligent and Immersive Training System and Device for Nasogastric Tube Placement

The invention discloses a novel clinical skill training simulator used for learning the operations of nasogastric tube placement. The simulator is developed using virtual reality technology. A virtual human body is constructed based on  real human anatomy. Visualisation of the tube inside the body, audio and graphical physiological response of virtual patient, and the force feedback to trainee during the intubation process are simulated. Learning performance is evaluated with quantitative metrics.

System and Method for Detection of Impairment in Cognitive Function

The invention discloses a novel approach for early detection of cognitive function impairment. The approach is based on the health profile and the health assessment data of community-dwelling people. A dual neural network model is developed to extract latent representations of these two types of data and evaluate their level of cognitive function.
